Overview

Vast-open east and southeastern part of Mongolia is known as a country of enormous blue skies, vast-open grasslands and is famed for its numerous extinct volcanoes, herds of white-tailed gazelles, and balbal stones. As well as, tourism is has developed less in this part of Mongolia, and you will find yourself on the immense grasslands. The first part of the tour takes place in the birthplace of Chingiss Khaan, then on grassy steppes dotted with extinct volcanoes and next, discover beautiful Nature Reserves. Beautiful small Lake Khukh Nuur where Temuujin (childhood name of Chingiss Khaan) entitled as a Khaan, world’s largest statue of an equestrian, the world's biggest cave in the steppe, the Gobi desert Lake Ganga with its numerous swans are another things of interest. In this area, we can visit as many nomad families as we wish and meet authentic nomads of the remote areas. 

Itinerary
Day-1.Terelj National Park
Early morning, we will drive to Chinggis Khaan statue complex. Where according to legend of that he found golden whip. The statue is symbolically pointed east towards his birthplace. It is on top of the Statue Complex, a visitor center, itself 10 meter tall with 36 columns representing the 36 Khaans from Chinggis to Ligden Khaan. It was built in 2006. And then we will drive to Terelj National Park. It is about 37 km north-west of the statue, is a deservedly popular destination. At 1600 meter, the area is cool and alpine scenery is magnificent, and there are great opportunities for hiking, climbing and do horse riding. The park is over 102 million hectares large. The landscape is looking a little bit like the Alps. It is a national park that is started to develop in the 1960s and officially was classified as a national park in 1994. Day-2.Khukh lake
It was mentioned that Temuujin (Genghis Khan's childhood name) moved to in the Khukh Lake ( Blue Lake ) of Kar Zurkh (Black Heart) of Sengur which exists Khurelkh. Khar Zurkh is a point topped mountain with a forest in its shady side and no trees in its front slope. The stone of Ger with a diameter of 15 meters is on the south side of this lake. It would be the ruin of the Palace where Genghis Khan was entitled as a Khan of Mongols in 1189. The land around the lake is a region as a taiga forest zone and vast depression surrounding mountain ranges. Overnight in Ger camp ( )
Day-3.Bereeven Monastery
The remains of the Bereeven Monastery are located in the depression of the Bereeven Mountains. The monastery was made of granite stone in 1777. The God of "Manzushir" with 3 meters high and 2 meters wide was crafted on the steep and reddish, granite stone is to the southeast of the monastery. The main worship hall was built in 1813. It had 32 columns and 3 stairs, which called "Utai Gumben" but it has broken beside the wall. Last a few years American builders rebuilt it. The monastery at one time was home to 8,000 lamas. It was the religious center of the eastern Khalkh Mongols. The buildings were mainly constructed of stone and wood because of its location near the forests. No detailed studies on Bereeven Monastery exist. Overnight in Ger camp ( )
Day-4.Uglugch Wall
Day of rest at the burial site, exploring the area. Today we will also visit Uglugch Wall. Overnight in Ger camp ( )
Day-5-6.Birthplace of Chingiss Khaan (Dadal village)
At 8.30am, we will drive to the Dadal village, where famous for being the place of birth of the greatest leader of Mongolia, Genghis Khan. This area is a gorgeous natural reserve where you can have a rest enjoying the lakes around, rivers and forests. We will around in the late afternoon and explore the village life. On the second day, no driving and more for relaxing day. Will visit to the 3 lakes which is called “Kholboo nuur” and big statute of Chinggis Khaan. Overnight in Ger camp ( )
Day-7.Herlen Bars Town
Drive to ruins of Herlen Bars Town. It’s a ancient Qidan town. The ruins stayed originally which looks just like now. Kherlen bars, some small-scale ruins and a 3 m high tower from a 12th century city, once part of the ancient state of Kitan is one of the ancient monuments remained in Mongolia. Under the agreement Chinese and Mongolian specialists will restore the unique site. Overnight in local nomad’s family ( B L D )
Day-8.Choibalsan city, Dornod Province
After breakfast we will drive to Choibalsan, the capital city of Dornod Province. Will take a permission here. It covers 123500 sq km with 74759 population. The province was created during the administrative reorganization of 1941 with the name of “Choibalsan” after the communist leader KhorloogiinChoibalsan. It has 14 villages. It’s a 4th large city in Mongolia. At 747m high a.s.l. After we visited there, will see provincial museum. Overnight in Hotel ( B L D )
Day-9.Dornod Mongolia steppe
Thankfully, authorities have been convinced that the area's fragile environment and endangered fauna and flora need to be conserved. Dornod is currently the base of a multi-million dollar environmental protection project, which is researching everything from fires to field mice in an attempt to protect one of the world's last undisturbed grasslands. Three large Strictly Protected Areas (SPA) were established in the aimag in 1992: Dornod Mongol (570,374 hectares). Holds one of the last great plain ecosystems on earth, protecting seas of feather grass steppe and 70% of Mongolia 's white-tailed gazelle, which roam in herds of up to 20,000. Nomrog (311,205 hectares). An unpopulated area, which contains rare species of moose, cranes, otter, and bears. Ecologically distinct from the rest of Mongolia, the area takes in the transition zone from the Eastern Mongolian steppe to the mountains and forest of Manchuria. It is proposed that the park expand eastwards. Overnight in wild camping ( B L D )
Day-10.Buir Lake
Today we will start driving from “Menen” to “Buir” Lake which locates on the border of Mongolia and China. It’s the largest in Eastern Mongolia. It has an area of 235 sqmiles(669sqkm). It receives from Khalkhriver and it outlet to Orkhon river and flows into lake Hulun to the north. The surrounding area is mostly grassland. It is about 50m deep. Overnight in Ger camp ( B L D )
Day-11.Khalkh River
We will drive to KhalkhGol today. The biggest river in Dornod area is Khalkh River. The west bank of the river is taller than the east bank. If you see from the east bank, it looks like wall that covers over, so that it is called as “Khalkh” river which means “shield” in Mongolian. The river that flows through Khalkhgolsoum of Dornodaimag is 233 km long and flows into Buir Lake determining the border line between Mongolia and China. The Khailaast River flows into the Khalkh River. In 1939 an undeclared war was held between Japan - Manchu and The Soviet Union – Mongolia near the Khalkh River. Overnight in Hotel ( B L D )
Day-12.Sangiin dalai lake
Today we will drive to “Sangiin Dalai” salty water lake via IkhBurkhant temple. It is a huge image of Janraisig carved into the hillside. Carving was commissioned in 1864 by local regent Bat OchiriinTogtokhtooriin and was reconstructed between 1995-1997. It is 30 km long, 20 less carvings of god are circling big lying god monument. Day-13.Taliin Agui, Shiliin Bogd
Today we will drive to ShiliinBogdmountain which is especially for the man’s fortune and on the way visit to “Steppe Cave”. “ShiliinBogd” mountain is raised up 1778 m high a.s.l. Around the mountain there are 222 dead volcanic craters. You can see 200 of them from the top of the ShiliinBogd. The steppe cave is about 200m long and ice cool, size of the cave is like big 5 wall ger’s size. Overnight in wild camping ( B L D )
Day-14.Dariganga village – Ganga lake
Early morning we will drive to “Dariganga” village visit to “AltanOvoo” sacred volcano. AltanOvoo was named Dari Ovoo previously. After they worship the (Golden ) it start named by “AltanOvoo”. This is also for only a man. Not for a women and a children. Overnight in Ger camp ( B L D )
Day-15.Chingiss Khaan City, Khentii Province
Will drive to Undurkhaan capital city of Khentii province. Stay on the way there overnight. It is established in 1930. Having 17 villages. The great khan of the Mongols Chinggis khan, creator and leader of the Mongol Empire is claimed to have been born and grown up in the Khentii Province. The mountain BurkhanKhalduun in the Khan Khentii Strictly Protected Area is considered sacred and assumed to be the birthplace of ChinggisKhaan. Overnight in Hotel ( B L D )
Day-16. Avarga Toson Mineral Spring
Today we will drive to Khodoo aral to esxplore Avraga Toson Mineral Spring which has underground mineral water source. Overnight in Ger camp ( B L D )
Day-17.Back to Ulaanbaatar-Celebrate The End Of An Adventure
Today we will head to UB city. We will have a lunch on the way. Overnight in ( B L )
